Mumbai: Actor Amal Sehrawat, known for his performances in the films Sarkar 3 and Satya 2, recently embarked on a memorable family trekking expedition in Himachal Pradesh, describing the experience as a perfect combination of adventure, physical endurance, and mental rejuvenation.
Sehrawat revealed that the family had initially planned to undertake the challenging Sar Pass Trek. However, adverse weather conditions forced them to alter their plans and return from the Grahan Trek route near Kasol. Despite the change, he said the journey turned out to be equally rewarding.
“The best escape from the scorching summer was the Grahan Trek. It is a steep 12-kilometre trek, and carrying a 10-kilogram backpack throughout the journey made it physically demanding. Yet it became the perfect blend of adventure, fitness, and inner peace,” he said.
The trek, which took two nights to complete before the group descended on the third day, offered what the actor described as a natural workout unmatched by any gym session. Surrounded by mountains, rivers, and fresh air, he experienced both physical challenge and emotional renewal.
A particularly meaningful aspect of the trip was that it was planned by his young son, Krishay Sehrawat, and his friend. Amal expressed pride in their initiative, noting that they independently researched the trek, tracked details, and managed bookings.
“The responsibility, confidence, and maturity they displayed at such a young age made me emotional as a father,” he said.
During the trek, the family followed the scenic Parvati River and encountered diverse mountain flora. Their first major stop was Grahan Village, where they stayed with local residents, enjoyed traditional cuisine, and participated in folk singing sessions late into the night.
The experience took a dramatic turn when severe weather struck the region. Heavy rain, thunderstorms, and freezing temperatures forced the group to remain indoors. A power outage cut internet connectivity and drained phone batteries, creating an unexpected digital detox.

“What initially felt inconvenient became one of the most beautiful parts of the trip. Without screens and distractions, we had meaningful conversations and formed deeper human connections,” Sehrawat said.
Although worsening weather conditions prevented the group from continuing further into the mountains, they returned with lasting memories and a renewed appreciation for nature’s power and unpredictability.
The actor also reflected on the emotional impact of the journey, saying that reconnecting with nature helped him reconnect with himself. Walking beside the Parvati River, breathing mountain air, and witnessing nature’s changing moods reinforced his belief in the importance of spending time outdoors amid today’s fast-paced lifestyle.
The trek was led by Bhuvan, an eight-time ski champion whose experience and leadership played a crucial role in ensuring the group’s safety. Sehrawat praised Bhuvan not only for his expertise but also for his kindness and empathy, noting that the trek transformed a group of strangers into close friends.
“By the end of the journey, we were no longer just a trekking group—we had become a family of friends bound together by a shared adventure and a deep respect for nature,” he said.
